Any vet assistance reaquired is at owners expense.

Midwife Cria Birthing: Useful if you work during the day (when most births occur), but want to have someone checking on your due female. Offered where our stud males have been used or one of our females purchased. Service is a daily morning check of your female in her paddock in the week around her due date, and attendence at your place during the labour, if it is determined that the female is in labour, or if you think your female is in labour, let me know and I can come out to view and assist the birthing if necessary. I have experience in head first deliveries, breech and recognising when a vet is necessary.  Service charge is $10 per day until birthing, plus travel costs. Service includes checking female for milk, ensuring female is comfortable and cleaned post birth,  ensuring cria is active and suckling, and in event of a flat cria, care given to help. There may be extra costs involved. Recommended female is kept in a smaller paddock with pens available nearby if needed and shelter provided.

Neo-natal advise: We offer full back up advise for our Stud Male's cria born.  Recommend for first time breeders to attend a Neo-natal course prior to first alpaca birth, these are usually held few times a year (contact AANZ for the next course)
