Our alpacas are shorn yearly, with some show Suri alpacas at 18-24 months. The Suri fibre is skirted and hand classed, it is then sent to a mill in the North Island to be commerically processed into yarn/fibre. We aim to produce mostly yarns of 100% alpaca as feel that the special properties of alpaca fibre are unable to be fully appreicated unless the end garment is pure alpaca. At present costs still being calculated for Alpaca / Merino Yarns once current fibre is processed.
